Escape hatches information

Dear yachtsmen and professionals,

Goiot Systems, created in August 2014, is a manufacturer of fixed and opening multihull escape hatches.

Following a few cases of glazing failing to adhere to the aluminum frame, Goiot Systems has set up in 2020, for a limited time, securing kits or the replacement of opening hatches, with the shipyard manufacturers.

Goiot Systems invites multihull owners and/or users who have not yet done so to contact LAGOON or their boatbuilder immediately before setting sail.

IMPORTANT NOTE :

The estimated service life of an escape hatch is 10 years under normal operating conditions.

This does not require automatic replacement after 10 years, provided that installation, maintenance and periodic inspections (at least annually) are carried out in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.

The estimated service life may nevertheless vary according to operating conditions, the environment and frequency of use.

If a component fails, abnormal wear is detected, or there is any doubt about the integrity of the hatch, particularly its watertightness, it is recommended that you :

- contact your dealer promptly so that the hatch can be replaced if necessary,

- and do not go to sea until the necessary work has been completed.

Continuing to use a defective hatch may compromise the safety of the occupants and the vessel.
